Note #7 to Ken: PrivateGPT Allows You to Privately and Securely Connect Directly to Your Company's Data
Dear Ken,
Generative AI is connected to the Internet; it is not connected to your company’s data. But you will gain most value for your business if Generative AI was connected directly to your data, in a private and secure manner. The only way to do this is through PrivateGPT.
The more I work with companies, I hear a similar request over and over. It goes something like, “ChatGPT is cool! But it would be really great if I could ask questions against my company’s data instead of just asking questions against public data from the Internet.”
YES, that would be great.
There are two major problems with trying to accomplish this through subscription services like ChatGPT Enterprise or other AI company’s direct AI services:
You are on their development timeline. For example, your company may use a specific type of ERP system that is not on OpenAI’s immediate roadmap to connect to. Well, you will have to wait for them while other businesses pass you by with their own PrivateGPT that is connected to their own ERP system.
By allowing OpenAI or any other company direct access to your company’s data systems, you are increasing your risk surface dramatically for data security and privacy violations and breaches.
With PrivateGPT, you can connect your company’s data “today”, and it will be a completely private and secure connection because PrivateGPT sits within the technology walls of your company. Nothing goes out.
We do this all the time at bluefoxlabs.ai. Each integration requires custom scoping and build, tailored to the specific systems you need to connect, but you are in the driver’s seat.
I hope you are starting to see how compelling PrivateGPT is as a solution versus subscribing to an AI company’s direct enterprise subscription. Next week I will finish this PrivateGPT series by discussing how PrivateGPT allows you to control your roadmap and control all of your intellectual property.
With care,
Dr. Joe, Your AI Doctor
These notes are for 'Ken' and 'Sookie,' the American names my young Korean immigrant parents adopted while navigating profound change as they moved to the US in the 1970’s. In the notes within this blog, I imagine them as young adults again, but now encountering change and uncertainty from today's AI shifts – Sookie with potential job uncertainty, Ken with business disruption.
Drawing inspiration from their historical resilience as young immigrants facing the unknown, I'm compelled to write with empathy and offer truly helpful thoughts for anyone navigating AI's rapid evolution. Remember, this isn't financial or direct strategic advice, but a perspective to encourage your own thoughtful consideration. I do not identify myself as their son in these notes, but in reality, I write with a son’s heart.
My notes to Sookie will always be free, as I understand employees often navigate workplace changes with fewer resources and support systems. My notes to Ken will be offered at an accessible price point designed to be a worthwhile investment for businesses of any size looking to adapt to AI changes.
