Note #6 to Ken: PrivateGPT Allows You to Plug into Any AI Model
Dear Ken,
Large-language models are changing so rapidly and there is no clear winning company (e.g., OpenAI, Meta, Google, DeepSeek), so you need the flexibility to use whatever AI model suits your business processes the best.
We have covered data security and privacy and empowering your employees to build your company’s AI future. Now let’s talk about all of these AI large-language models!
I know that you have heard of OpenAI and ChatGPT, but did you know that every week there are new large-language models coming out from other companies (and countries) and the speed of development is only accelerating?
Additionally, each company’s models are known to be better at various things than other company’s models. As an example, here’s a seven month old snippet from ai-pro.org that outlines some of the pros and cons of some of the major large-language models:
The amazing thing about this list is that it’s already wildly out of date and already quite inaccurate in many aspects because seven months in AI time is like ten human years. This list was great seven months ago! The models have changed wildly since then and new models have also come out.
By committing yourself to one company’s AI large-language model(s), you are placing a pretty big bet on one horse when you don’t have to place a bet at all!
In a PrivateGPT environment, you can have access to any or all AI large-language models, while still keeping full control of your company’s data security and privacy.
Next week, let’s talk about using AI with your company’s data! That’s always one of the most exciting aspects of PrivateGPT.
With care,
Dr. Joe, Your AI Doctor
These notes are for 'Ken' and 'Sookie,' the American names my young Korean immigrant parents adopted while navigating profound change as they moved to the US in the 1970’s. In the notes within this blog, I imagine them as young adults again, but now encountering change and uncertainty from today's AI shifts – Sookie with potential job uncertainty, Ken with business disruption.
Drawing inspiration from their historical resilience as young immigrants facing the unknown, I'm compelled to write with empathy and offer truly helpful thoughts for anyone navigating AI's rapid evolution. Remember, this isn't financial or direct strategic advice, but a perspective to encourage your own thoughtful consideration. I do not identify myself as their son in these notes, but in reality, I write with a son’s heart.
My notes to Sookie will always be free, as I understand employees often navigate workplace changes with fewer resources and support systems. My notes to Ken will be offered at an accessible price point designed to be a worthwhile investment for businesses of any size looking to adapt to AI changes.
